Safe Environment

Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Training is mandatory for the following Council roles:

 

Grand Knight

Program Director

Community Director

Family Director

 

In addition, the Community Director and Family Director must undergo a background check. For more information, see the Safe Environment Program Council Compliance Guide published by Supreme. 

Keep in mind Knights of Columbus Safe Environment Training is separate from and in addtion to any Diocesan requirements for Safe Environment Training.

Supreme sends out email notifications to the individuals in these positions for mandatory training and background checks when the Form 365 (Service Program Personnel) is submitted by the Council This is best done through Supreme Member Management. It is extremely important the individuals in these positions complete the required training and background screening forms as soon as possible. Once completed, training and background checks are good for three years.

There are a number of reports published by Supreme on Officers Online to keep Council, Distict, Region, and State leaders up-to-date on the status of Council compliance with Safe Environment requirements. An explanation of the requirements and reports can be found at this link:
