Patriotic Degree - In Person
I am pleased to announce the resumption of a cherished Florida District Fourth Degree tradition with the return of an Exemplification in Orlando during the Thanksgiving Weekend.
The Exemplification will be at a new and popular location, the Florida Hotel in the Florida Mall, located at 1500 Sand Lake Road in Orlando, on Saturday, November 27, 2021. There is a block of rooms available for the Florida Fourth Degree, with the firm cut-off date for reservations Nov. 1.
The honoree for this Exemplification will be SK Scott A. O’Connor, our immediate Past State Deputy for the State of Florida, Supreme Director and a member of the Florida District Fourth Degree Exemplification Team.
This continues the annual tradition of holding a Thanksgiving Weekend Exemplification in Orlando, an annual highlight of the Fourth Degree calendar. The Florida Hotel has hosted Florida State Organizational Meetings in the past. With its location adjacent to the Florida Mall, there are plenty of opportunities for wives and family, both at the mall and nearby attractions.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with the Exemplification beginning at noon. There will be the recitation of the Patriotic Rosary in the anteroom to get candidates into the proper frame of mind for the Patriotic Degree. The Degree will begin at noon.
There will also be a Ladies Tea at noon. The Exemplification will be followed by a Vigil Mass at 4 p.m., followed by a banquet at 6 p.m.
The candidate fee is $70. The fee for a Priest is $45. The deadline is November 20. Assembly checks are to be made out to: John J. O’Toole, and sent to Master John J. O’Toole, 9686 SW 92 Place Road, Ocala 34481.
Assemblies will be required to send in a downloaded copy of the registration form (please do not write on the original, degree certificate (Honoree Scott A. O’Connor), signed dress code letter, signed Form 4 (all four copies for each candidate) and check by Friday, November 19.
Please note the dress code for the exemplification. While tuxedos are no longer mandatory, candidates must wear a dark suit (not brown!) and dress shoes.
Everyone is invited to support our Candidates and Honoree by purchasing an ad in the Exemplification program. The cost of a full page ad is only $250.00 and will include your Assembly or Council name, number, current officers, and your message. We will have pre-made pages for your convenience. Half-page ads cost $150, with a quarter-page $75. The deadline is Sunday, Nov. 14th.
With the Coronavirus pandemic, we will follow the Orange County mandates. Social distancing practices will be followed. We urge you to continue to be safe.
