Habitat Veteran Village in Umatilla

Lake County Assembly 1675 helping at the dedication of the Veteran Village

Lake County Assembly 1675 cooks lunch for the rededication of the Habitat for Humanity Veteran Village in Umatilla.  Habitat will host many colleges and universities on two week long work camps over the next several months.   For the past two weeks the Massachusetts Maritime Academy has been down in Eustis, Florida, doing a variety jobs helping the Lake-Sumter Habitat Family.  These 60 students are building, painting, cleaning up communities in the area.  At the end of their stay and at the rededication of the Veteran Village, the Lake County Assembly 1675 cooked lunch for all involved.  The assembly cooked hamburgers, hot dogs with all the fixing for 75 - 80 people.  This included the 60 students from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy, the Habitat for Humanity Staff, and the Veteran residents of the community.    Its was a great afternoon with tremendous community support.
