Don't compromise on faith

  • Romans 12:2: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

  • Matthew 10:32-33: "Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven."

Why can't the world deliver on love?

  • 1 John 2:15-17: "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever."

  • John 15:18-19: "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."

Why the world is no longer on your side

  • James 4:4: "You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God."

  • John 16:33: "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

We must consistently be faithful

  • Hebrews 10:23: "Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful."

  • 1 Corinthians 16:13: "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong."

Witness story: Keeping kids Catholic

  • Deuteronomy 6:6-7: "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."

  • Proverbs 22:6: "Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

Prayer and the rosary are absolutely essential

  • Philippians 4:6-7: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:17: "Pray continually."

Role of fathers is critical

  • Ephesians 6:4: "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

  • Colossians 3:21: "Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged."

Showing children the greatness of faith

  • Psalm 78:4: "We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders he has done."

  • 2 Timothy 3:15: "and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus."

Families need a spiritual plan

  • Joshua 24:15: "But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

  • Acts 16:31: "They replied, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.'"

It's a hard time to be Catholic, but God is with us

  • Matthew 28:20: "and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

  • John 14:27: "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

PRAYER:

O Lord, we seek Your grace and guidance for Catholic families in this post-Christian world. Strengthen us to be beacons of faith, hope, and charity, even as Your name is forgotten and Your laws challenged.

Pour forth Your Holy Spirit upon Catholic parents. Grant them wisdom and courage to instill in their children love for You, reverence for the sacraments, and commitment to Your Church's teachings. May they live the Gospel, creating domestic churches where Your presence is adored.

Protect our children from the world's seductive influences. Keep their hearts pure, minds discerning, and souls turned towards You. Inspire them to embrace their Catholic identity with pride and joy, and to be courageous witnesses of Your love.

We ask for unity and harmony in our families. May our homes be havens of peace, forgiveness, and understanding. Help us cherish marriage, upholding its sanctity with a love mirroring Your Trinitarian love.

Finally, we pray for society's renewal through the vibrant witness of Catholic families. May our homes, consecrated to Your Sacred Heart, radiate Your light, drawing others to Jesus Christ. May we re-evangelize the world until Your glorious return.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Our Lady, Queen & Mother of the Family, pray for us. Saint Joseph, Protector & Father of the Holy Family, pray for us.All Holy Saints, patrons of families, pray for us.
